ATS self-defense and wellbeing seminar primary goal is to empower participants with practical tools for stress reduction, risk awareness, and overall safety enhancement. The seminar will be a comprehensive program which addresses both the physical and mental aspects of self-defense, recognising the unique challenges faced by those in domestic violent situations. Â
1. Stress Reduction Techniques: Â Â Understanding that stress is a pervasive factor in domestic violence situations, we will incorporate evidence-based stress reduction techniques. This will include mindfulness exercises, breathing techniques, and guided relaxation to equip participants with coping mechanisms for immediate and sustained relief. Â
2. Risk Assessment and Awareness: Â Â A crucial aspect of self-defense is recognizing and mitigating risks. Our seminar will provide participants with tools to assess the level of risk in their specific situations, helping them make informed decisions about their safety. This will involve interactive sessions, case studies, and expert insights on identifying potential danger signs. Â
3. Personal Safety Strategies: Â Â Practical self-defense techniques tailored for all and circumstances will be a central focus. This includes basic physical self-defense moves, home security measures, and strategies for de-escalating confrontational situations. Facilitators will be Self-Defence & Community Psychologist Experts. Â Â
Outcomes: - Improved confidence and self-efficacy. - Enhanced ability to make informed decisions regarding personal safety. - Empowerment to seek additional support and resources. Â
The seminar will be conducted in a safe and confidential environment, ensuring participants feel comfortable sharing their experiences. A combination of in-person and virtual sessions will be offered to accommodate diverse preferences and accessibility . Â Focusing on both the physical and emotional aspects of self-defense, our seminar aims to foster resilience and empower individuals to navigate the challenges of domestic violence, increasing confidence and safety.
